Madekwe was raised by an ethnically mixed family. She's English but her father was Nigerian. She was raised on the southern part of London Council Estate. She went to The Brit School aged 14. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she obtained an acting BA. In her time at the school, she performed in numerous stage plays, like King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe launched her acting career in the movie Storm Damage. In the years since Madekwe's appearance in Teachers and Doctors. Madekwe made her official US debut in the 2009 drama series The Beautiful Life, which only aired two episodes on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge in February of 2011. Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for a Gemini Award, is a member of a large Hamilton family. The four brothers she had were also in the family and included twins Todd & Bram, Brett & Rob. Ashley's brothers were athletic and played baseball in summer as well as hockey in winter. Ashley was not a walker, but she would dance. When she was two and a half, she was introduced to Baby Ballet. That was the start of Ashley's passion for dance. Ashley continued to perform competitively throughout high school at the top levels of competitions, such as ballet, tap, Jazz Pointe, Acrobatics, Pointe Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop and many more. The top soloist at big competitions, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, were all awarded to Ashley.
