The father of the singer, Vincenzo Barba is the mother of Valerie Barba. At the age of six the family relocated into Point Pleasant New Jersey. She completed her education at Red Bank Catholic High School, New Jersey. She graduated from Catholic University in New Jersey with a Bachelor's Degree. When she was 4 She began playing the violin and earned the nickname Violin girl. Performances by her led to the use of her nickname.
